Maysville is a realitively small town with a population of 1,002 with 483 housing units, and a land area of only 76 miles. The main street of Maysville is Highway 17 that links New Bern and Jacksonville.
Maysville is home to the White Oak River and several lakes and streams making it an ideal location for the active adult, kayaker, fisherman or outdoorsman.
Residents typically work in the Cape Carteret, New Bern and Jacksonville areas and are either retirees, young military families or long time residences of the area.

Maysville Elementary School is located in the town of Maysville, Jones County, North Carolina. Located near the coast, they utilize resources to provide an understanding and appreciation of the industrial and recreational opportunities of the coastal region. The school has a student body population of approximately 200 students from grades Pre-K to 5, so their teacher to student ratio is excellent.
Maysville Elementary School also known as MES is proud to announce its new weblog MES Mustangs and Podcast for reporting classroom and school wide information. Eventually patrons will be able to access each teacher's blog for more specific classroom information.
